Avid preparation for AAF / edl workflow
1st, export the timecoded reference video
Go to File - Output - Export to File
Click the Options button, Set export as to "QuickTime Movie"
the reference video is the only guide to check during conform, making sure in Davinci timeline is exactly the same as in Avid
2nd, Flattening the timeline.
Duplicate your timeline, rename it as “project name to color”
Delete all the text, Graphics, adjustment layers, audios.
move all video clips to video track 1.
3rd, Do you have transitions?
If you have cross dissolves or Dip to color, You can keep them.
If you have swipe, or other special transitions, You can keep them, but make a conform note with timecode.
4th, Export the aaf file.
5th, Export the edl file.
go to Tools > List Tool.
